3.2 Transmedia Plan and Poster Development

We made a journey map to understand how the user will use the poster/web/other before, during and after the Neighbours Day event. Considering how we want the user to respond will help in creating our designs.

We decided that even though both of our posters had individually strong ideas, and communicated the idea, we struggled to figure out how we could continue to generate imagery for the other forms of media. After discussing our poster developments, we found that combining them diluted and confused the concept of having an event where people could get together with their neighbours to be prepared in an emergency.

We need to narrow down and finalise/define exactly what it is that we are trying to communicate. This will then allow us to stick with a consistent concept across the project and will help keep us on track. Using a rhetorical idea such as juxtaposition or metaphor with food, we could develop something that encourages people to come together at the event and start convos about preparedness. We brainstormed a few ideas and taglines, such as "food for thought" which could work well.

We decided we would like to cater our designs to suburban neighbourhoods, and an interesting thing about suburban neighbourhoods are all the different kinds of people, the variety. This could be an important element in our design work.
