3.2 Transmedia Touchpoint Research

Desktop vs Mobile Design Differences

Responsive and Adaptive Design

Responsive designs respond to changes in browser width by adjusting the placement of design elements to fit in the available space. Adaptive design has multiple fixed layout sizes. When the site detects the available space, it selects the layout most appropriate for the screen.

Transmedia:

Lego is a company with a clear style and aesthetic, that has changed over time (and will continue to develop), but is easily recognisable and iconic. Their use of style across transmedia is consistent, from their website, social media channels, and all of their products - including their huge range of lego building blocks, tv shows and movies (pictured in the three posters above), lego clothing and accessories (t-shirts, watches, even crocs, etc.), games (digital on different platforms, physical board games, etc.), Legoland, books (comics, magazines, etc.) and so much more. Each individual part of the Lego universe is unique but they all relate through image and text, style and logos, in a way identifiable by users.
